# How to delete your WhatsApp Business API integrated number

Instructions to remove your WhatsApp API number:

**Step 1**: Go to *https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/whatsapp_account* (you may need to login as the Meta Business Manager admin)

**Step 2**: **Select** your **WhatsApp business account** from the **list**]

**Step 3**: **Scroll** **down** and **select** the “ **WhatsApp Manager**” button (screenshot below).

**Step 4**: You will see a **Trash** **icon** next to every phone number on your account. **Click** the **Trash** **icon** to **delete** the number. You may need to **re-login** to your **Meta** **Business** **Manager** to **confirm** the **deletion** of your **number**.

__it may take between 24hours to 30days for a number to be completely removed from WhatsApp's records__, since WhatsApp has a variable “wait” period before the number can be reused again for any other WhatsApp service.
