Why can’t I change the brand logo and sender name without connecting a new number?
The WhatsApp for Business API number is connected to the Meta business manager of the brand sending the WhatsApp messages. When a brand updates the profile pic and sender name for the WhatsApp number, Meta verifies if the logo and sender name match the official brand registration details in the Meta business manager. This is a security measure which ensures that a sender does not fraudulently impersonate another brand.
To send back in stock WhatsApp messages with their own logo and sender name, a brand needs to purchase a new number and connect it through the back in stock app admin.
If you prefer not to connect your own number, you can use our number to send back in stock WhatsApp messages too. However, you will not be able to change the logo or the sender name since Meta will not allow us to add a different brand name, as a security measure.
